By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:

Kazakh Ministry of Energy is in talks to supply AI-92 gasoline from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Belarus, China and other countries, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan told Trend.

The ministry said that the terms, conditions and volumes of supplies are covered by the contracts of the businesses. The terms of the contracts were not disclosed by business entities as it is a trade secret.

The ministry said that KazMunaiGas - Processing and Marketing JSC contracts for the volumes in Russia in order to stabilize the situation in the domestic market of Kazakhstan, which is unprofitable. In particular, the JSC contracted for 69,500 metric tons of AI-92 gasoline, 10,000 metric tons of AI-95 gasoline and 64,000 metric tons of diesel fuel in August-September 2014.

"Some 9,800 metric tons of AI-92 gasoline, 2,600 metric tons of AI-95 gasoline and 19,400 metric tons of diesel fuel were imported to Kazakhstan," the department said. "Some 11,200 metric tons of diesel fuel are on the way."

There are no quantitative restrictions and export duties (other duties, taxes and fees having equivalent value) for economic entities of Kazakhstan and Belarus in mutual trade within the framework of the tripartite Agreement on the organization, management, operation and development of common markets of oil and oil products of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, the ministry said.

"However, the acquisition of Belarusian oil production in the first place is the subject of discussion between economic entities of the two parties (Belarus and Kazakhstan)," the ministry said. "In this case, the implementation of such supplies is disadvantageous from an economic point of view because of the high transportation costs."
