Afghanistan to export oil in four years

The spokesman of Afghanistan's Ministry of Mines Javad Omar said that the country can export oil by the next four years, Avapress website reported.

Javad Omar added that oil output will reach 150,000 barrels and the figure will double in 2013, according to the Avapress website.

He expressed the hope that the domestic need would be completely met by the next four years and exports can be stated.

The Ministry of Mines awarded CNPC International of China and its Afghan partner, Watan Oil and Gas, collectively known as CNPCIW, an Exploration and Production Sharing Contract for three oil blocks in the Amu Darya Basin of northern Afghanistan in December of 2011.

CNPCIW has since selected prestigious and internationally recognized companies like Schlumberger to carry out the work in the Amu Darya Basin.
