Croatia invites Azerbaijani investors to large project

The State Office for the Administration of State Property of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia enacted a Call for an Expression of Interest for the establishment of the right to build and the right of usage of property in the location of Kupari I, the website of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Fund (AZPROMO) reported on March 10.

The Kupari tourist hotel complex is the former army recreation center in Kupari, District of Zupa Dubrovacka, in the vicinity of the old town Dubrovnik. Today, a part of the complex (Kupari I.) consists of five hotels which are not in use -Kupari,Pelegrin, Grand and Goricina I. and И, together with their attendant contents. The total capacity of the complex is 1,626 beds.

The coast of participation is 15 thousand HRK [about $2719 official exchange on March 10], or the equivalent in foreign currency at the exchange rate at the time of payment.

The Croatian government classifies the project as a strategic one which means the total investment in the resort should be not less than 20 million euros, or 10 million euros if the funding is provided jointly with EU funds.

A letter with an expression of interest can be submitted by all domestic and foreign companies and physical persons, in written form to the State Office for Administration of State Property no later than 30 days after the announcement of the Call for an Expression of Interest.

The trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $222.54 million in 2013, most of which - 213.25 million - accounts for exports of Azerbaijani products, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan imported Croatian products in the amount of $ 9.29 million last year.

The trade turnover between the countries was reduced by 1.5 times compared to 2012.
