The metallurgical industry and enterprises for the production of finished metal products in Azerbaijan produced goods and rendered services totaling 66.7 million manat in January-February 2014, a report of the country's State Statistics Committee said on March 17.
The production volume in the metallurgical industry has increased by 47 percent while the production of finished products grew by 39.5 percent, according to the committee's report.
As of January-February, production of cast iron in the country amounted to 48,700 tons, which is by 83.7 percent less than in the same period in 2013. Around 7,000 tons of steel pipes were produced during the reporting period which is by 54.3 percent less than in January-February 2013.
The volume of armature production in the country amounted to 48,000 tons during the reporting period, which is by 49.7 percent more than in 2013.
The volume of ferrous metal pipes export was equal to 3499.7 tons (worth of over $3.37 million) in January 2014, which is by 41.9 percent (in monetary terms - by 41.1 percent) less compared to 2013.
The official exchange rate on March 17 is 0.7843 AZN/USD.
