In January 2014, Turkey's oil products imports decreased by 19.9 percent, compared to December, 2013 - to 1,251,758 tons, according to a message posted March 19 on the website of the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).
The import of diesel fuel by Turkey in January 2014, decreased by 0.01 percent compared to December 2013, standing at 880,302 tons, EMRA said.
Gasoline sales in Turkey in January, 2014, rose by 0.1 percent, and stood at 134,439 tons.
In January the diesel fuel sales in Turkey rose by 14.5 percent amounting to 1,207,277 tons, compared to December, 2013.
In 2013, some 21.4 percent of the total volume of oil imported by Turkey came from Iraq, 15.3 percent from Iran and 14.2 percent from Russia, according to EMRA.
The remaining 49.1 percent came from Saudi Arabia, Libya, Greece and Nigeria.
In 2012, Turkey imported 19,479,238 tons of oil and in 2011 - 18,490,163 tons of oil.
