Kyrgyzstan seeks to access Persian Gulf and Oman Sea via Iran, Minister of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Kalykbek Sultanov said.
Having access to the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea is vital for Kyrgyzstan, Iran's Fars news agency quoted Sultanov as saying on October 21.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian deputy industry minister Mohsen Salehinia in Bishkek.
Sultanov emphasized the need to implement the proposed China-Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Iran rail route project.
The Iranian official, for his part, said signing preferential trade agreements and facilitating visa issuance procedure for Iranian and Kyrgyz businessmen can help boost the bilateral trade.
