Addressing hundreds of young elites, scientific figures, and winners of international Olympiads, the leader said that the country should be run by taking advantage of talented and skilled youth, Iran's Shana news agency reported on Oct. 22.

He emphasized the need to keep the pace of the scientific progress, saying that serious pursuit of the country's progress and expediting Iran's scientific and technological progress is one of the utmost priorities of the country.

Despite all the scientific progresses, the country has yet to gain a scientific status which is decent of the nation.

In an economy which is dependent on underground resources, there will be no real progress, he noted.

On Oct. 18, Khamenei said the pace of the country's scientific growth should not witness even the slightest reduction on any pretext.
