In the wake of the recent payslips scandal in Iran, a couple of local news agencies are speculating that at least three senior banking managers have already resigned.

ISNA news agency says the heads of Bank Saderat Iran, Bank Mellat and Qarzol-Hasane Mehr Iran Bank have reportedly resigned.

Meanwhile, Mehr news agency suggests that Hadi Akhlaqi will replace Ali Rastegar at Bank Mellat Iran, Esmaeel Lalehgani at Bank Saderat Iran will be replaced with Siavash Zarei, and Morteza Akbari will take Siamak Dowlati’s office at Qarzol-Hasane Mehr Iran Bank.

Over the past two months, President Hassan Rouhani’s government has been harshly criticized as the payslips of several high-ranking government employees were leaked online, revealing that they were receiving unusually high salaries or bonuses.

Head of Central Insurance Company of Iran, Mohammad Ebrahim Amin was the first government official to resign over the scandal in May.

Bank Refah President Ali Sedqi was dismissed over the payslips scandal in June.
