Iran's gas deliveries to domestic power plants increased by 7.6 percent to 33.291 billion cubic meters (bcm) during 167 days of he current fiscal year (started on March 20).
According to the latest weekly statistics of Iran’s Energy Ministry, published on Sep.13 on its official website, the country's power plants also decreased gas oil and fuel oil consumption by 53.3% and 56.7% to 847 million liters (ML) and 1228 ML respectively year-on-year during 167 days of the current fiscal year (FY).

The country generated 146.936 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), of which 3.481 billion kWh was exported (which indicates a 26 percent decline Y/Y). Iran also increased electricity imports by 11 percent to above 2.097 billion kWh in 167 days.
In total, the country's power generation capacity increased by about 1.446 gigawatts (GW) to 75.5GW year-on-year, while further 2 GW is expected to be added to this volume by the end of the current FY (March 21, 2017), the report says.
Thermal power plants share 83.38% of Iran's total power generation capacity.
