Iran railways launches international trade office

The Islamic Republic of Iran Railways (RAI) has launched an international trade office.

The office will help improve RAI’s international transport activities and also help further coordinate the company with regional railways, Deputy Director of RAI for Operation and Travel Hossein Ashuri said, RAI told Trend October 3.

The new office will also help to establish more organized relations with tradesmen and cargo owners and help meet RAI’s objectives of easier access to international corridors, he noted.

RAI plans to reach a transit volume of 5 million tons per year, the official went on to add.
