By Fatih Karimov – Trend:

Saman Bank, one of Iran’s leading private banks, has opened its first office in Europe, Mansour Momeni, head of the bank’s Public Relations Office, said.

The bank has opened a representative office in Rome, Italy after receiving the required licenses from central banks of Iran and Italy, Momeni said, Mehr news agency reported May 24.

The office will provide consulting services in funding and investment and banking issues and will introduce the investment opportunities in the Islamic Republic to European, in particular Italian, investors, he added.

Momeni further said that the bank has already signed an agreement with Sace (Servizi Assicurativi del Commercio Estero), Italy's export credit agency, based on which an exclusive credit line was provided to the bank.

European and Iranian producers can use the credit line, he added.

Earlier in 2015, Sace signed short-term line of credit insurance MoUs with three Iranian banks, Parsian, Pasargad, and Saman.

The MoUs were signed in a meeting between an Italian delegation and representatives of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) in Tehran.
