Iranian gold complex output up by 48%

Mouteh Gold Complex in central Iran produced over 65 kilograms of gold ingots in the first two months of current fiscal year (started March 20).

The figure indicates a 48-percent growth compared with that of the same period of preceding year, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) reported June 21.

The figure is 86 percent more compared to the planed output which was 35 kilograms.

The complex’s gold ingot output in the second Iranian fiscal month (April 20-May 21) accounted to 35 kilograms, 46 percent more year-on-year.

The complex is located 295 kilometres southwest of Tehran.

Chah Khatoun Gold Mine is the main source of Mouteh's gold extraction.

Mouteh's annual gold ingot output stands at 300 kg.

The provinces of East and West Azerbaijan, Tehran, Isfahan and Khorassan Razavi are the top gold production hubs in the country.

Iran's National Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization put the proven and probable gold reserves at 320 tons.
