Iranian negotiators show example of revolution in diplomacy, says ambassador

Baku, Azerbaijan, July 15
By Temkin Jafarov - Trend:

In the last days of the holy Ramadan, Iranian diplomats showed the example of revolution in diplomacy during the talks with the P5+1, Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pak Ayeen told Trend.

Iranian negotiators proved that by maintaining the principles of the Islamic revolution, it is possible to protect the rights of Iranian people with the help of political will and international practice, according to the ambassador.

He added that the team of negotiators led by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif proved that it is impossible to force Iranian people to give up under the pressure of sanctions.

"As a result of the revolutionary diplomacy, the forces that used to ban Iran to launch several centrifuges, now have accepted the launch of 1,000 centrifuges in Natanz and Fordow," said Pak Ayeen, adding that alongside with recognizing Iran's right to enrich uranium, the sanctions have also been lifted.

The Vienna agreement is the national success and result of the unity of Iranian people, the ambassador said.

The talks held in Vienna July 14 between Iran and P5 +1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany) ended with adoption of a joint comprehensive action plan. If Iran carries out this plan, the economic and financial sanctions earlier imposed on it by the UN Security Council, the US and EU will be lifted.

The talks between the two sides started over 10 years ago. After the adoption of an interim joint action plan in Geneva in November 2013, the discussions between Iran and P5+1 have been held in Vienna, Montreux, Lausanne and Geneva in many rounds since February 2014. The final negotiation round has lasted in Austria's capital for over 18 days.
