Some Iranian MPs have prepared a plan to impeach the country's oil minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh.

The MPs have referred to mismanagement in the ministry, the drop in oil prices, and the improper appointment of directors, as their reasons to impeach the minister, Iran's Fars news agency reported on June 13.

MP Shokrekhoda Mousavi said that the impeachment process will be followed up in the current week.

On May 17, some 70 MPs signed a bill to impeach the Education Minister Aliasqar Fani. Iranian teachers have held numerous cases of demonstration in the past few months, calling for improvement of their wages and benefits.

Meanwhile, on May 3, a group of MPs signed a motion to impeach the country's Roads and Urban Development Minister Abbas Akhoundi.
