By Fatih Karimov - Trend:

Iran should start technological cooperation with the world, the country's President Hassan Rouhani said.

The atmosphere after the nuclear agreement will be in favor of researchers, elites, and knowledge-based companies, IRNA news agency quoted Rouhani as saying on October 18.

"We have lagged ten years behind the world's latest technology because of the sanctions," said the president. "Now, knowledge-based companies should take the lead in attaining advanced technologies and we should start a technological cooperation with the world."

Elsewhere in his remarks, Rouhani said that the nuclear talks ended successfully thanks to the use of the best political, legal, economic, and technical negotiators.

He added that the culture of revolution should not be translated into the language of objection and vituperation.

"If we want to talk to the world and collaborate, knowledge will be its prerequisite," said Rouhani. "We were successful in the historic talks with the six world powers because of our knowledgeable men and elites."

Following several month of talks, Iran and the P5+1 (the US, the UK, France, Russia, China and Germany) reached a historic agreement on July 14. It will curb Iran's nuclear program in return for lifting economic sanctions.
