At least, four people have been killed and two went missing following flood in west and south-western Iran.

Amin Saberinia, head of Iran's Emergency Medical Service, has said that the flood has struck nine provinces in the country, IRNA news agency reported. A five-year old girl as well as a young woman have gone missing and if the rescuers fail to find them within the next 48 hours, the officials will count them as dead, Saberinia added.

According to the report the western provinces of Ilam and Lorestan as well as south-western town of Dezful in Khuzestan province have suffered from heavy damages following the flood.

Saberinia further added that nine people were injured as a result of the flash flood. According to media reports, heavy rain resulted in severe flood in Iran's western and south-western provinces.

The flood has also washed away a floating bridge over the Dez River in south-western town of Dezful.

A train also has derailed due to heavy rainfall in the western province of Lorestan and the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways has halted train rides on the north-south railroad.
