Dead people in Baku explosion identified (UPDATE-3)

An explosion took place in Baku. Narimanov district police told Trend that the explosion took place on Aga Nemetulla Street in the morning. The explosion went off in a sausage shop.

According to initial information, the reason for the explosion was a gas leakage.
The head physician of the ambulance Mursal Hamidov told trend that three people died and one person was injured.

The dead and injured are being identified.

The medical center deputy head physician Adil Salahov told Trend that the injured person has numerous shards of glass in his body. He added that surgery is not required.
The injured man is being identified. His state is satisfactory.

Hamidov told Trend that one dead person was identified. He is a 45-year-old owner of the shop Rovshan Agagulov. Other two people were employees of the gas service operating there at that moment. They are 35-45 year-old men.

The injured person Shukurov was 35-45 years old.

Hamidov said that it is assumed that the explosion took place as a result of gas-cylinder explosion.

SOCAR's Azerigas PU told Trend that Azerigas employees were working there.

It is not assumed that the incident took place because of natural gas explosion because it can happen in a closed area. It is assumed that the repair operations were conducted.

The explosion could occur while using oxygen or gas cylinder in repair operations.

Narimanov district deputy prosecutor Javid Quliyev told Trend that 42-year-old Rovshan Agagulov, 21-year-old Nurlan Khalilov and 40-year-old Asaf Vahabov died.

He told about three injured people. But only Rustam Shukurov was identified.

Spokesman for the Prosecutor General's Office Eldar Sultanov told Trend that the criminal case has been filed according to article 162.2 of the criminal code (Infringement of labor safety rules).

The investigation is underway.
