Trend:

The police warned the protesters about the need to restore public order in Yerevan, RIA Novosti reported.

"We will continue explaining that their actions are illegal," Colonel Valery Osipyan, deputy chief of Yerevan's police, said. "The rally participants must immediately stop protesting and return to the Liberty Square or elsewhere. I am confident that people will accept our explanation. Otherwise, we will restore the public order."

He added that the police will take all measures in accordance with the established procedures to restore the public order in the Baghramian Avenue.

He said that some people consider the current actions of the police as inaction, while others say that the police are unable to control the situation.

"No robbery!" civil initiative, protesting against the increase in electricity tariffs, said that it will voice its position on the plans voiced by President Sargsyan at a meeting June 28 at 18.00 (UTC/GMT +4 hours).
