Tbilisi, Georgia, Jan. 28
By Nana Kirtzkhalia -Trend:
Georgia has expanded its list of crimes where convictions would deprive the right to obtain Georgian citizenship. Corresponding amendments on the government's initiative are made to the Law on Citizenship of Georgia. The author of the bill is the Ministry of Justice.
Under the bill, the Georgian citizenship cannot be granted to anyone who has committed an international crime against peace and humanity, participated in specified in the Georgian legislation state crimes, or committed serious crimes against public security and order.
