Blasts hit mosque in Sanaa

At least 20 people were killed and more than 100 injured in a twin suicide attack at a Shiite mosque in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, Sputnik reported.

A suicide bomber set off an explosive belt inside the al-Mayed mosque in northern Sanaa during the sunset prayer.

A conflict between Houthi rebels and governmental forces, which started in March, has led to a dire humanitarian situation in the country.

Since the start of the conflict, the ICRC medical organization has been providing vital humanitarian support to around one million people in Aden, the biggest city in southern Yemen under governmental control, according to the ICRC.

The organization temporarily suspended its work in Aden following an attack on the organization's employees on August 24, however its activities, including the provision of food, water and medical care, are continuing throughout the rest of Yemen, according to the organization.
