Russia's President Vladimir Putin and Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had a meeting in Tehran, Nov. 23.
Commenting on the meeting, Russian president's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov quoted the parties as saying that a political settlement to Syrian issue is impossible to achieve under a dictation from outside, and this problem must be solved by the Syrian people itself, according to RIA Novosti.
"There was a very in-depth exchange of views," Peskov further noted, adding, "Discussions, to a large extent, focused on crisis situations in the overall region, the situation in Syria being discussed primarily."
