IMF and Ukraine agree on additional lending to Ukraine in the amount of $17.5 billion, the IMF head Christine Lagarde said, TASS reported.

Thus, the total amount of the IMF assistance program will reach $40 billion. In exchange for lending, Ukraine must prepare a program of deep economic reforms, including the economic sphere and the transformation of Naftogaz.

"This agreement was reached with Kiev at the expert level," she said. "The program has not been approved by the Board of Directors yet. I hope to submit it for approval till late February."

Lagarde also said that the Ukrainian government has agreed to raise energy prices to a level close to the market prices.
