At the moment there is no information on the availability Azerbaijani citizens among the victims of the earthquake in north-western Iran, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev told Trend on Sunday.

According to him, the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Tabriz continues to clarify the presence of the country's citizens among those killed and injured in the disaster.

The number of victims of the earthquake, that occurred on Saturday in north-western Iran in the East Azerbaijan Province, has reached 250 people, the number of injured amounted to 1800, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on Sunday with reference to the deputy head of the Interior Ministry and head of the organization of emergency management under the Interior Ministry Hassan Gaddami.
