Georgia increases number of TV channels broadcasting via Azerbaijani satellite

Satellite operators of Georgia increased the number of TV channels broadcasted via Azerbaijan`s "Azerspace-1" satellite, a source in the Azerbaijani telecommunications market told Trend.

Satellite operators of Georgia increased the number of TV channels broadcasted via Azerbaijan`s "Azerspace-1" satellite, a source in the Azerbaijani telecommunications market told Trend.

The broadcasting package of the "ViTex" operator has started via the Azerbaijani satellite which includes 22 TV channels, and a package of "IveriaSat", consisting of 27 TV channels, the source said.

Earlier, the total number of Georgian television broadcast via Azerbaijani satellite was 25.

Total number of broadcasted TV and radio channels via "Azerspace-1" satellite has reached 130 units. The satellite is located at the orbital position of 46 degrees east longitude.

In order to watch the TV content, user satellite antennas should be configured as follows: Frequency - 11169 MHz, speed: 20400, polarization - Horizontal and FEC - 5/6.

Azerbaijan's first telecommunications satellite Azerspace/Africasat-1a was launched in February 8, 2013.

The satellite is designed to render digital television and data transmission services, provide creation of multiservice VSAT networks and ensure government communications.
Azerspace/Africasat-1a satellite's service area includes countries in Europe, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Middle East and Africa.
