(Nediamax) вЂ" The Russian co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk group Yuri Merzlyakov stated today in Erevan, that during the visit to the region the mediators had detailed and comprehensive discussions with Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the вЂњbasics of the key elements for the future settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict вЂњ.
Speaking at the briefing in Erevan, the Russian mediator said, вЂњwe are currently working over the wordingsвЂќ. According to Merzlyakov, the main result of the co-chairsвЂ™ visit to the region is the accord on holding the meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Kazan in late August, prior to which consultations of both countriesвЂ™ Foreign Ministries heads in Moscow on 23 August will take place.
The Russian diplomat refused to comment on the reports of possible referendum in Nagorno-Karabakh, accounting for the confidentiality of the negotiation process.
The OSCE Minsk group American co-chair Steven Mann stated on availability of the serious chance for achieving the serious progressвЂќ. He noted that during the last year the sides of the conflict managed to achieve a considerable progress.
