Turkish security forces arrested 32 people suspected of support of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) during anti-terrorist operation in Istanbul on Wednesday, TV channel TRT Haber reported.

PKK militants systematically organize attacks against the civilian population and Turkish security forces.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state has been on-going for more than 25 years claiming over 40,000 lives. The PKK group is recognised as a terrorist organisation by the UN and the European Union.

PKK rebels have repeatedly threatened the Turkish authorities with intensification of the armed conflict, if not taken concrete steps to address long-term Kurdish problem.
