Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend A.Ismayilova / Azerbaijan's military expenses will comprise $1.3bln in 2008, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated on 30 October in an opening ceremony of the Training Center of the Special State Security Service.
The President said that it is necessary to establish in Azerbaijan powerful war industry, solve social problems of the military, and the army formation should be carried out in complex. The army building is successfully implemented in Azerbaijan and the country should be prepared to war any time. With this respect the professionalism of army and the patriotism among youth are boosted and finance allocated for the army is also increased.
The President appraised the activities of the State Special Security Service, which has special services for the people of Azerbaijan, particularly, in preservation of Azerbaijan's independence. Aliyev said that measures were taken for the development of the the Special State Security Service.
