Principles of Determination of Human Trafficking Victims Submitted to Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers

К.Zarbaliyeva / The principles how to determine victims of human trafficking were developed and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, the chief of the Department on Human Trafficking of the Internal Ministry Imran Najafov stated during the meeting dedicated ton struggle against human trafficking.

The National Action Plan against Human Trafficking was adopted in Azerbaijan in 2004. The Plan covers from 2004 to 2007. Under the United States report for 2007 Azerbaijan was replaced from the third to the second group of countries among Japan, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Estonia and Latvia on level of struggle against human trafficking.

A special office was allocated in order to create permanent hot line for victims of human trafficking. The OSCE Baku office supplied the office with all need equipment. The hot line will be put into commission in the near future.

Lack of hot line was mentioned in the United States Department's report for 2006.
