Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 July / corr. Trend E.Babayev / Unified activities of the opposition, represented at the Azerbaijani Parliament, have become outdated. "The opposition cannot unite at the Azerbaijani Parliament, because some oppositional MPs are not real oppositionists. There are parties presented at Milli Majlis under a name of opposition, while they are not engaged in the opposition's action," Panah Huseyn, MP and member of Musavat parliamentary group, told Trend on 1 July.

The Great Establishment, the Unified Azerbaijan, the Civil Unity, Musavat, the Civil Solidarity, the National Democratic Reform, Umid, Adalat, the Free Democrats Union - ten oppositional parties are represented at Milli Majlis. Musavat party, represented by four MPs, and Panah Huseyn, a member of National party, organized Musavat parliamentary group to coordinate their actions. So far, definite attempts have been taken to activate this opposition fraction at Milli Majlis.

Huseyn said that there were definite talks on unification of the parliamentary opposition, whilst it was unsuccessful. "Some forces, represented at the parliament under the name of opposition, are not the opposition in real. Part of them is not opposition in fact," Huseyn said. He noted that currently, majority of MPs from Musavat group at the Parliament state their positions the issues discussed. "Some other MPs also keep this position during the discussions," MP said, withholding concrete names.

In 1992-1993 Huseyn was the Premier in the period of ruling of the Azerbaijani Popular Front and Musavat parties. He was elected to the parliament during the 2005 elections. Huseyn represents National party at the Milli Majlis. He retired from the position of the party chairman a while ago.
