Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 Dec / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva/The tenth anniversary of the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the National Security Ministry was marked.
On 6 Dec Fuad Alasgarov, head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Department for law enforcement bodies, read President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev's congratulation letter on the tenth anniversary of the Academy during the arrangement.
The Academy, which is important in training of professional officers providing security of Azerbaijan, was established at National Leader Heydar Aliyev's decree, dated 1 Dec 1998, General Lieutenant Eldar Mahmudov, the Minister of National Security, said.
Material and technical base of the Academy was established and study and teaching were organized at the Academy within ten years, Mahmudov said.
Recently, many repair and reconstruction work has been conducted in Azerbaijan. Thus, new corps has been established, material and technical base has been strengthened and the most contemporary technology has been applied.
The Minister said that study at the Academy is organized in line with specificity of special service bodies. "Besides training of youth professionals, who get special knowledge at the Academy, we pay special attention to their upbringing in spirit of adherence to Motherland and nation and development of their world outlook," the Minister said.
The Azerbaijani nation trusts and respects national security bodies, Misir Mardanov, the Minister of Education said. This trust and respect is connected to recent serious changes, held at the Ministry of National Security (MNS), he stressed.
The MNS plays an important role in preventing definite threats, danger of terrorism against the state, MP Ali Ahmadov, executive secretary and deputy chairman of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), said.
"WE are glad to see how the national security services prevent threats against the country in time and professionally. They are demonstrating great selflessness in protection and maintenance of independent statehood," the MP said.
The NAP's deputy chairman has expressed his confidence in the national security services that they will never allow our country and nation to feel anxiety.
The MNS, which is important for the country, pays special attention to training of youth people and their upbringing in line with contemporary requirements, Professor Seyfaddin Gandilov, the rector of the State Governance Academy at the President, said.
"While getting familiarization with the Academy, at present we can say that Azerbaijan possesses the University, meeting contemporary requirements," Gandilov said.
The Minister of National Security awarded to staff of the academy, who distinguish themselves in study process, honorable diplomas, medals and other prizes.
