Azerbaijan has opened an honorary consulate in the Italian city of Genoa. The consulate will cover the Italian regions, such as Liguria, Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta and Lombardy, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy told Trend .
A former Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Margarita Costa was appointed the Azerbaijani Honorary Consul to Genoa.
The opening of the consulate is important from the standpoint of cooperation between the two countries, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy, Emil Karimov said at the opening.
