Local elections in Georgia must be fair and must not cause a new revolution, Christian-Democrats leader Nika Laliashvili quoted EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter Semneby as saying during a meeting with the opposition.
Leaders of the Christian-Democrats today met with Semneby at the Tbilisi Marriott. The meeting lasted 45 minutes.
According to Laliashvili, Semneby was informed about the pre-election situation in the country.
"We presented our views on the pre-election process and its recovery," he said.
In his turn, Tbilisi mayoral candidate from the Christian-Democrats Gia Chanturia stressed the importance of international organizations, especially the EU, in assisting the country during the pre-election process to ensure fair and democratic election.
"The inclusion of the EU will make the pre-election process more transparent," he said.
