U.S. Charge d'Affaires to Azerbaijan Donald Lu finished his tenure to the country this week.
Adam Sterling replaced Lu last week, the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend.
Prior to his appointment, Sterling worked at the U.S. Department of State, in the White House and at the National Security Council as head of the Central and Eastern Europe Department. He has also served in U.S. embassies in Israel, Kazakhstan, Belgium and Peru.
Sterling is a career diplomat and speaks French, Spanish, Azerbaijani and Russian. He is married with two children.
