The district election commissions have received appeals from 1,276 candidates who are ready to run for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, of whom 1,213 received signature lists from the CEC, and 327 have already filled in and submitted them to the CEC, the Central Election Commission reported Wednesday.
So far, 149 people have been registered as candidates over 88 constituencies.
The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
