At present, the CEC registered 546 people as candidates for Azerbaijani parliamentary elections, Mazahir Panahov, the CEC chairman, said at a meeting.
"About 1,115 people filled in the subscription lists and submitted them to the district election commissions," Panahov said.
He said that about 163 people took their documents back.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.
The appeals on the parliamentary elections were considered at the CEC's meeting.
