Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 29 / Trend T.Hajiyev /

The holding of "exit-poll' during the elections will have a positive impact on voter turnout in Azerbaijan , ELS Independent Research Center Head Irada Yagubova has told Trend. ELS has already passed registration at the CEC to conduct "exit-poll" in the country.

"People show interest towards the checking of the interviewers before the elections, as people come to participate in "exit-poll", and even if not all participate in it, many will be aware of the election process. Therefore, I believe the conduct of "exit-poll" will increase the voter turnout "- Yagubova said.

According to her, three types of forms will be used while conducting of exit-poll.

"There will be various forms - for those who will be elected by the selection rules for exit-poll, for those who wish to participate voluntarily, and who refuse to participate. The voices of volunteers will not be counted because they may be involved with defined objectives. The age and gender of those who refused to participate will also be taken into account, which will be used for sociological research in the future," Yagubova said.

ELS will organize exit-poll in Azerbaijan's 1,180 constituencies. In each of the 1,180 polling stations two interviewers will poll voters. Interviewers' questionnaire will be counted four times a day. The survey will be submitted to the central headquarters.

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
