President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva have met today former director general of UNESCO Koïchiro Matsuura.
The former director general of UNESCO underlined importance of the Baku International Humanitarian Forum. He said very important humanitarian initiatives had been carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years. Matsuura described the participation of prominent scientists and public figures at the forum as an international interest to the event.
President Aliyev, in turn, expressed satisfaction with his meeting with Matsuura again in Azerbaijan.
The Head of State described the Baku International Humanitarian Forum as an important event. He added Azerbaijan had already become the center of international humanitarian initiatives.
