A meeting of the permanent committee of the International Conference of the Asian Political Parties will be held in June in Baku, Chairman of the Department of International Relations Asaf Haciyev has confirmed.
Speaking in an interview with the ruling New Azerbaijan Party's website, Haciyev said, "When the venue for the meeting of the permanent committee is discussed, the development of the country and processes taking place there are taken into consideration.
"Last year Azerbaijan was chosen despite the fact that other countries also claimed to it. This is evidence of the fact that the process happening in Azerbaijan is of great interest for the world."
He noted the General Assembly of the International Conference of Political Parties of Asia will be held in Baku in November.
"Representatives of the Asia's leading parties - 400-500 political figures - will attend the conference. Representatives of the Europe's influential parties will also be invited to the event," the MP said.
Memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the NAP and the Vietnamese communist party is planned to be signed in 2012.
"Agreement of both parties has already been received. The Vietnamese communist party invited the NAP representatives to Vietnam where the agreement will be signed. This visit is likely to take place during 2012," Mr Haciyev said.
