President Ilham Aliyev receives delegation led by Iranian FM

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif on Feb.16.
Mohammad Javad Zarif conveyed greetings on behalf of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani to Ilham Aliyev.
Noting relations between the two countries cover all fields, the Azerbaijani president stressed the importance of reciprocal visits on different levels in terms of the strengthening of the ties.
President Ilham Aliyev noted the significance of decisions adopted during the meetings with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. The head of state expressed hope that the visit of the delegation led by Foreign Minister of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif to Azerbaijan will be fruitful and will contribute to the further expansion of the relations.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the two countries enjoy deep historical ties. He paid tribute to Azerbaijan's National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and praised his services in the establishment of Iranian-Azerbaijani bonds.
The Iranian foreign minister expressed confidence that relationship between the two countries will continue to develop successfully.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views over the issues related to prospects for the development of relations in the fields of regional security, fighting terrorism, cooperation within international organizations, energy, transport, modern technologies and agriculture.
Ilham Aliyev thanked President Hassan Rouhani for his greetings, and asked Mohammad Javad Zarif to communicate his greetings to Iranian president.
