BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. No negative events have been recorded in the electoral process during the observation of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) mission at the snap parliamentary election in Azerbaijan, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Omar Kocaman said at today's press conference on the election results in Baku, Trend reports.

"All necessary conditions were created, and measures were taken to ensure people's participation in the snap parliamentary electoral process. This once again proves the legitimacy and transparency of the election," Kocaman also said.

He emphasized that the election commission mission of the OTS includes representatives from the Central Election Commissions of the OTS member states.

"The mission carried out its activities in accordance with international election standards. On the election day, the OTS delegation participated in the opening of a polling station in the Khatai district of Baku. In total, the mission visited 36 polling stations.

During our observation, no negative incidents in the electoral process were recorded. All necessary conditions were created, and measures were taken to ensure people's participation in the electoral process.

This once again proves the legitimacy and transparency of the election. The counting and announcement of votes were conducted in a timely manner.

The mission did not face any negative phenomena that could affect the election results. No campaigning was observed near polling stations. The ballots were produced in accordance with the law. Media coverage of the election contributed to their transparency.

The OTS election observation mission confirms that the election was conducted openly and transparently, in line with international electoral standards," he added.

The snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1.

According to preliminary data, the voter turnout in the election reached 37.27 percent.

A total of 2,196,771 voters had cast their ballots in the election, and 5,895 polling stations submitted their protocols to the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan.

A total of 112,749 local observers have been registered, including over 65,000 representatives of political parties. There were 598 international observers from 51 organizations and 69 countries.

Among the 990 registered candidates, 305 represent 25 political parties, while 371 are party members but were not nominated by their parties. In total, 676 candidates are affiliated with political parties.
