January to May of 2005 rise of benefits and salaries of budget employees affected on

incomes and expenses of population.

According to the State Statistics Committee, as of 1 March 2005 net money incomes of the population grew 25.4%, or 2.9trln mantas as compared to last year and comprised 14.1trln manats. Per capita incomes comprised1.7m manats, or 24.2% up than 2004.

In May per capita incomes in the country comprised 359,600 manats in average, or 71,700 manats (24.9%) more than last year.

In this period the incomes for the first time exceeded the expenses by 113.9bn manats. The expenses comprised 13.99trn manats. The structure of money incomes did not suffer considerable changes. In this period 75.9% of the community expenses was spent on purchase of goods and services, 1.5% - increase of savings, 18.3% - purchase of foreign currency and 4.3% - payments and fees. After the payment of taxes and different necessary payments the left incomes of population comprised 13.5trln, 24.8% more as compared to 2004. The funds in savings were 1638,000 manats per capita.

As of official data, in this period the average monthly salary comprised 555,700 manats, or 25.5% more that the same period of 2004. the highest salarieswer4e fixed in the spheres of industry, finance, rent and commerce, construction.

In January to May 2004 the social payments paid at the job places made up 15.5bn manats. Major part of benefits fell on employees of electricity gas and water supply, transport, store economy, communications and education.

Stable money incomes in the form of salaries and social payments are undoubtedly referred to the employed. According to official statistics, on 1 June 2005 a total of 3832,000 economically active people were registered in the country (46.4% of the total population). The average number of employee involved in enterprises and organizations grew 5% as compared to 2004. The same time the number of unemployed also grew. 56,356 of the employed were women. Six people claimed at 1 vacant place.


In May 2902 people received the unemployment benefits in the amount of 176,000 manats, or 30.1% of average monthly salary.


According to the Confederation of Trades Unions, the per capita living subsistence reduced 1.6% and made up 420,000 manats. The subsistence minimum made up 508,300 manats per employee, down 1.7%, and 762,000 manats per employee with one dependent, or 1.8% down.
