2.6bn manats financial violations were revealed in the municipalities in 2005, Trend reports quoting Vilayat Zahidov, the Deputy Minister of Justice, as saying at a next meeting of the Milli Majlis. He was delivering an annual report on administrative control over the activities of the municipalities.
The financial violations comprised 762m manats in the Imishli municipality and 275m manats in Sarkhanly municipality, Imishli region, 210m manats - Kursangi municipality, Salyan region, 173m manats - Shenlik municipality, Aghjabadi region, 51m manats - Ashaghy Garamanly municipality, Neftchala region. The total sum made up 2.6bn manats in 2005.
Criminal cases were filed on the materials, sent to the Prosecutor Office in this regard. Soma cases are under investigation, other - under consideration of courts.
Violations include non-drawing up local budget, bankruptcy of financial funds of the municipalities, governance of municipal lands and spending of funds, as well as committing the acts contradicting the law.
