Two documents to be signed during official visit of Lithuanian president to Azerbaijan

Within the official visit of the Lithuanian president Valdas Adamkus to Azerbaijan, two documents may be signed, Trend reports quoting the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The president of Azerbaijan and Lithuania, as expected, will sign joint statement. Besides, an agreement project is being prepared on the support and protection of the bilateral investments. At the moment, these documents are under completion phase.

Adamkus will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on 8-9 June. According to information provided by the press-service of the Lithuanian president, Adamkus will arrive in Baku at noon June 8 and in the first program of the visit, he will put a bunch of flowers in front of the grave of ex-president Heydar Aliyev. Then, Adamkus will hold a face-to-face meeting with the president Ilham Aliyev and right after that, talks with the participation of the government representatives and a joint press-conference of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Lithuania. Besides, Adamkus is expected to meet with the speaker of Milli Majlis [Azerbaijan Parliament] Oktay Asadov, as well as participate in reception on behalf of the president Ilham Aliyev on that day.

On June 9, the president Adamkus will take part at Azerbaijan-Lithuanian business forum, visit the Heydar Aliyev Fund and hold a banquet with the Prime Minister Artur Rasizade. A ceremony of awarding Adamkus a title of honourable doctor will be held at Baku State University. Then Adamkus will visit Sangachal oil terminal. He will return to Vilnius in the evening June 9.

During the visit of the Lithuanian president, as expected, he will be accompanied by 15 businessmen, 14 journalists, as well as high-ranked representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs, agriculture, economy and justice.
