The member of the conservative fraction the chairman of the political committee Goran Lennmarker gained the victory among five candidates for the president post of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE.

The Swedish diplomat Lennmarker was appointed the special envoy of the PA OSCE on Nagorno-Karabakh in July 2002. Lennmarker paid his final visit to the region in May 2006. During his meeting with the speaker of Azerbaijani parliament Oktay Asadov, Lennmarker noted that the process of talks on settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict reflects optimism.
