The Ministry of Communication and IT has submitted a proposal to the Cabinet of Ministers stipulating preparation of concept for transition to digital TV broadcasting in Azerbaijan, Trend reports quoting Ilham Ahadov, CEO, PA Teleradio.
Ahadov said the government already had drawn the order according to which both governmental and private TV channels shall commence works on transition to digital TV broadcasting this year.
В"According to the concept, by 2015 it is planned to implement 3-packet and 12-channel broadcasting network in Baku n 2-packet across the republicВ", said PA executive.
Ahadov said such transition is mandatory. В"In case we hesitate with the matter, it will badly affect TV broadcasting in the country, especially in a view of such transition worldwideВ", he concluded.
First in Azerbaijan, digital TV broadcasting system was introduced in Baku October 10, 2004.
