All Efforts Made in Azerbaijan to Maintain Russian Language with Young Generation Azeri President

The Head of Azerbaijan is doing all he can to ensure that the young generation do not forget the Russian language, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev stated.

There are no Russian schools that have been closed in Azerbaijan. Separate education in the Russian language function in all State Higher Education institutions of Azerbaijan, and the Slavic University functions successfully, Aliyev stressed during his interview with the Vesti Program of Russia Channel on October 18.

According to Aliyev, at present the number of newspapers in the Russian language published in Azerbaijan exceeds the numbers published during the Soviet Union. The attitude towards the Russian language in Azerbaijan is at a very high level, the President stressed.

It is not by coincidence that the significant event for the Russians such as the congress of Russians was first held in Azerbaijan. We are making an effort to ensure that the young generation does not forget the Russian language, Aliyev concluded.
