The Head of the Press and Information Policy Department of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry, Tahir Tagizade, informed Trend that only after the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijan will stand ready to reconsider its relations with Armenia, which will make possible the participation of Armenia in multilateral projects in then region. He commented on the statement of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Gegam Garibjanyan, on readiness of his country to join the project on construction of the railway link Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi.

As regards to the route of Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Kars, Tagizade said that it is known to everybody. The attitude of Azerbaijan towards the prospects of Armenia integration to multilateral and bilateral projects is uncertain, but a significant obstacle for Armenia involvement. I speak about the aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan and the fact that the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan have been occupied by the Armed Forces of Armenia, Tagizade said.

The project of Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Kars is estimated at $422 mln, and taking into consideration the accompanied infrastructure - $600 mln. The negotiations on the realization of the project are completing between Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia.
