Law on Social Adaptation of People Released from imprisonment in Penitentiaries Discussed at Parliamentary Commission

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizade / On 27 April the permanent parliamentary commission of the Milli Majlis [Azerbaijan Parliament] on social policy discussed the bill on Law on Social Adaptation of People Released from imprisonment in Penitentiaries in the second reading.

The Milli Majlis announced that the chairman of the commission, Hadi Rajabli, stressed the significance of the law from the aspect of eliminating isolation of the former prisoners from the society. It will help former prisoners to become full citizens of the country and contribute in their social adaptation.

MP Akhundova announced that the law envisages the establishment of social adaptation centers, rendering of medical, psychological, juridical and in formation assistance to former prisoners. After the discussion in the first reading at the Milli Majlis, the document was changed on basis of proposals by MPs. It was decided to pass the bill to the Milli Majlis.
