Number of Diseased Increased Two Times Due to Frost Weather in Azerbaijan’s Ganja City

Azerbaijan, Ganja, 22 January / Trend corr. V.Mammadov / The number calls to the Medical Station of Ganja increased twice over. Namik Nabiyev, a senior doctor at the station, reported to Trend that most of the calls were connected to inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, sharp cardiovascular aches, infarction and other different infections. The number of calls from different parts of the city totaled 50 during the frosty weather; the number of calls currently reaches 100 daily.

In 2007, the total number of calls reached 75,515. Some 4,813 calls were connected to cardiology problems. The number of registered calls in 2006 made up 69,780.

Ganja is located 365km west of Baku.
