Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 January / corr. Trend J. Babayeva/ Azerbaijan has been invited to an international conference on the 'Oslo process' to be held in Wellington (New Zeland) on 18-22 February said Hafiz Safikhanov, chairman of the Public Union against Mines of Azerbaijan.
Some 46 countries adopted the Oslo resolution in support of the agreement envisioning a ban on cassette warheads used to deliver landmines. Twenty seven of these countries possess this kind of arm and 17 of them are producers.
Though Azerbaijan did not take part in the Oslo Conference officially, the National Agency on the Clearing of Azerbaijani Lands from Mines (ANAMA) has attended Belgrade, Brussels and Vienna conferences.
